ESCoE’s operating model is one of a network of researchers and institutions carrying out research run from a single physical centre based at NIESR in central London.
Our partners are NIESR, King’s College London, Nesta, University of Cambridge, Warwick Business School at the University of Warwick and Strathclyde Business School.
Our research team of over 30 Professors and researchers have world-leading publication records in economic measurement and statistics and understanding the economy, are regularly involved in agenda-setting research in the areas of macroeconomic statistics and national accounts, productivity statistics and analysis and conceptualising the modern economy, and have a wealth of experience in quantitative economic and statistical analysis.
We are supported by a network of distinguished academic experts and thought leaders and an international network of researchers and institutions working on similar issues.
In delivering the research programme, the partnership and researchers will collaborate with the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and the ONS Data Science Campus and identify opportunities for joint work and sharing skills.
We will be supporting new academics into economic statistics research by funding ESCoE PhD studentships in economic statistics. We will also be providing direct support to seven junior researchers involved in delivering the research programme. ESCoE encourages secondments, including internships by ONS and Data Science Campus staff. The experience of PhD students, junior researchers and secondees to the ESCoE will be enhanced by the calibre of the research team and our network of international experts. Experts’ visit to the Centre will provide opportunities to work closely with specialists and internationally recognised academics in economic statistics.
The ESCoE leadership and management team is based at NIESR, including the Centre Director and two Co-Directors.
