Darren Morgan appointed to UK Statistics Authority Regulation Committee

Congratulations to ESCoE Engagement Director Darren Morgan who has been appointed as an independent member of the UK Statistics Authority Regulation Committee. 

The Regulation Committee helps shape the UKSA regulation strategy and work programme and oversees the assessment programme of official statistics against the Code of Practice. The Committee meets around six times a year  to safeguard the independence of regulatory decisions.

Darren’s extensive experience across the UK’s statistical system, combined with his leadership in international statistical forums, brings valuable insight to the Committee. His presence will help strengthen its ability to ensure that UK statistics continue to meet the highest standards of quality and public trust, while remaining responsive to evolving user needs and emerging economic challenges.

During his career, Darren has led the production and analysis of most of the UK’s official economic statistics, including the country’s National and Regional Accounts, Inflation, Labour Market, Trade and Balance of Payments. He has also had responsibility for the range of monthly output economic indicators covering the Services, Production, Construction and Retail Sectors.
