ESCoE Communications Manager and Events and Office Co-ordinator Roles Now Available: Closing Date 15 January 2023

The  Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence (ESCoE) has been granted a further five years of core funding from the Office for National Statistics (ONS). Now to be hosted at Kings Business School, King’s College London, we are looking for a Communications Manager and Events and Office Co-ordinator to join the Centre at this exciting time.

Communications Manager

The Communications Manager will lead on the development of the communication strategy building on the successes of the first six years. They will promote the work of ESCoE both internally and externally, working closely with the Centre Directors and Research Associates.  They will be responsible for brand management, creating digital communications – written, visual and recorded, administrating the day-to-day news flow on our website and social media platforms, and maximising our opportunities to engage with a variety of audiences. As well as the requisite technical expertise and drive, we are looking for someone who understands the role of economic statistics as a basis for informed debate and means of improving public policy.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a communications role, have superb design and communications skills including excellent writing skills, and will understand the research and stakeholder environment in which the Centre operates.

Events and Office Co-ordinator

The Events and Office Coordinator provides support to the Centre Directors in relation to all the main areas of the Centre’s work. Primary responsibilities are providing support for the delivery of all ESCoE events and the day-to-day administration of Centre activities, including meeting scheduling and committee support, managing the ESCoE email accounts, editorial support for the ESCoE publication series, managing the ESCoE contact lists and instigating and maintaining accurate and effective administrative systems.  

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills and be able to work accurately under pressure. They will be happy to work independently, while also being a key team member.
