The Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence (ESCoE) will hold its annual conference, organised in partnership with the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS), on 21-23 May 2025 at King’s Business School, King’s College London.
The conference is free to attend and will be held in person.
Keynote speakers include:
- Erik Brynjolfsson (Professor and Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI and Director of Stanford Digital Economy Lab)
- Carol Propper (Professor of Economics at Imperial College Business School)
- Sébastien Roux (Director of the Augmented National Accounts programme at Insee)
Join us for discussions on recent research advances in economic measurement and statistics.
Nesta will also run a pre-conference workshop at King’s Business School on 20 May. This will cover data visualisation and data labelling for machine learning applications.
The programme includes papers on many aspects of the measurement and use of economic statistics, focusing on:
- Inclusive wealth measures and looking beyond GDP
- Net-zero, climate change and the environment
- National Accounts, including price measurement
- Globalisation
- Productivity and innovation, including public sector productivity
- Developing methodologies for new data sources
- Labour markets, households and inequality
- Subnational statistics
- Communicating and valuing economic statistics
