The Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence (ESCoE) will hold its annual conference, organised in partnership with the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS), on 21-23 May 2025 at King’s Business School, King’s College London.
The conference will be free to attend and held in person. Keynote speakers will include Vipin Arora (Director of the Bureau of Economic Analysis) and Carol Propper (Professor of Economics at Imperial College Business School).
Topics of interest
We invite submissions of papers on all aspects of the measurement and use of economic statistics, including:
- Inclusive wealth measures and looking beyond GDP
- Net-zero, climate change and the environment
- National Accounts, including price measurement
- Globalisation
- Productivity and innovation, including public sector productivity
- Developing methodologies for new data sources
- Labour markets, households and inequality
- Subnational statistics
- Communicating and valuing economic statistics
We particularly welcome contributions using new methods and new sources of data, as well as contributions that address measurement issues arising with the development of international guidelines for economic statistics.

The deadline for all submissions is 23:59 GMT 13 January 2025. Decisions will be made soon after the deadline.
