ESCoE Conference on Economic Measurement 2026 – Call for papers open

The Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence (ESCoE) will hold its annual conference, organised in partnership with the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS), on 19-21 May 2026 at King’s Business School, King’s College London.  

The conference will be free to attend and held in person. Keynote speakers will include:

  • Carol Corrado (Senior Policy Scholar, Center for Business and Public Policy, McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University)
  • Xavier Jaravel (Professor of Economics, London School of Economics)
  • André Loranger (Chief Statistician of Canada, Statistics Canada)

Topics of interest

We invite submissions of papers on all aspects of the measurement and use of economic statistics, including: 

  • Inclusive wealth measures and looking beyond GDP 
  • Net-zero, climate change and the environment 
  • National Accounts, including price measurement 
  • Globalisation 
  • Productivity and innovation, including public sector productivity 
  • Developing methodologies for new data sources 
  • Labour markets, households and inequality 
  • Subnational statistics 
  • Communicating and valuing economic statistics 

We particularly welcome contributions using new methods and new sources of data, as well as contributions that address measurement issues arising with the development of international guidelines for economic statistics.
