The Productivity Institute (TPI), the Royal Economic Society, King’s College London and ESCoE will hold an event on productivity dispersion between firms in the UK. The event will take place at King’s College London on Monday 27 January 2025.
This event will take place during National Productivity Week and feature presentations based on recent work by the Office for National Statistics, The Productivity Institute, and the ScaleUp Institute.
The event will cover:
- Understanding productivity gaps: Exploring the significant variations in productivity levels across UK firms and the factors driving these disparities.
- Research insights: Gaining insights from the latest research, including the ONS’s analysis of business dynamics and productivity trends, The Productivity Institute’s detailed 2023 study on firm-level productivity in France and the UK, and the ScaleUp Institute’s work on the role of scaleups in creating greater business dynamics and growth.
- Expert discussions: Engaging with leading experts as they discuss the implications of productivity dispersion for policy and business strategy, and share recommendations for bridging the productivity gap.
