Paul Schreyer, former OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) Chief Statistician, has joined the Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence (ESCoE) as Research and Enterprise Director.
Paul Schreyer spent much of his career at the OECD and has been a member of ESCoE’s Advisory Board since it was founded in 2017. He is also Chair of the Technical Advisory Group to the International Comparison Program at the World Bank and Member of the GDP-B Advisory Committee to the Digital Economy Lab at Stanford University. His research and publications focus on National Accounts, the measurement of capital, productivity, welfare, non-market activities and prices. He has also authored several OECD Manuals in these areas.

The role
The Research and Enterprise Director role is new at ESCoE. Working with other members of the Leadership Executive, Paul will develop and deliver a cutting-edge research programme to improve understanding of the economy through innovation in economic measurement, data and statistics and will support the translation of research into statistics production.
The new post will help the centre reach its aim of addressing challenges and opportunities in measuring the economy through research.
