Help capture cross-organisational collaboration when using and producing regional socioeconomic data in the UK

Are you involved in the production, comparison, dissemination, or use of regional economic or socioeconomic data? We want to hear from you!

A new ESCoE project

In partnership with the Office for National Statistics (ONS), an ESCoE research team from the University of Strathclyde is conducting a project that seeks to fill a critical gap in our understanding of how different organisations collaborate when producing and using regional economic and socioeconomic data in the UK.

Stakeholders such as the ONS, Devolved Governments and Local Authorities have different mandates, priorities and resource constraints. This can make collaboration challenging when developing datasets with the appropriate level of geographic coverage, granularity and comparability.

We are interviewing stakeholders to understand their different perspectives and co-design solutions to strengthen collaboration. The Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR) is supportive of this work.

Why participate?

Your insights will help us:

  • Understand cross-organisational collaboration within the statistical system
  • Identify incentives, barriers and enablers to effective collaboration
  • Co-design system-wide improvements

Who we are looking for

We are seeking participants from:

  • The ONS, UK Government Departments, Devolved Governments
  • Local authorities, combined authorities, public bodies
  • Academia, research institutes and think tanks
  • Organisations supporting remote, rural and urban communities

What’s involved?

  • A confidential 60-90 min virtual interview to discuss your experiences and views
  • Optional follow-up participation in co-designing solutions

Your responses will be anonymised in any outputs and we are mindful of handling your data sensitively.
