ESCoE Postdoctoral Research Associate, closing 13 July 2025

We are looking for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to ESCoE’s work. This is a fixed-term position until 31 August 2026, based at King’s Business School, King’s College London.

The role will support a research programme funded by The Productivity Institute, focused on developing UK participation in the Competitiveness Research Network (CompNet) microdata infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with ESCoE colleagues, including Dr Rebecca Riley and Professor Javier Miranda, as well as collaborators in the Department for Business and Trade, the Office for National Statistics (ONS), and the OECD.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact research on productivity, economic measurement and firm-level dynamics using microdata.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of research methodology
  • Conduct advanced data analysis and econometric modelling
  • Work with large-scale, secure microdata and produce code in Stata, R or Python
  • Co-author academic publications and policy-relevant outputs
  • Collaborate with national and international stakeholders and data providers

About you

You will have a PhD (or be near completion) in economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative social science discipline. You should have strong econometric and data-handling skills, experience working with large datasets, and a keen interest in economic statistics and productivity research.

Experience of working with CompNet data or the ONS Secure Research Service, and a track record of collaborative or interdisciplinary research, are desirable.
