Cher Li
Cher is a Professor of Economics at Aston Business School (Birmingham). Her rich academic background includes tenure at UK institutions such as Nottingham University Business School, Imperial College Business School, and the Universities of Strathclyde and Glasgow. A recognised expert on the economics of innovation and business performance, Cher actively contributes to national policy as a member of the UK government’s Expert Peer Review Group (PRG). She also holds significant roles as a chair/rover in the UKRI Interdisciplinary Assessment College (IAC) and as a member of the Council of Experts for the UK Innovation and Research Caucus, a prominent think tank supported by the UKRI.
Cher’s research is focused on innovation, intellectual property, technology and management standards, and firm productivity. Her projects have attracted funding from the ESRC, various government departments, and international organisations. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to education and research in standards, innovation and productivity, she has been honoured with the BSI Standards Makers Award for Education about Standardisation by the British Standards Institution.
