David Caplan

David Caplan is a statistician with extensive experience of compiling and using economic statistics. He has held senior roles in the Office for National Statistics, including making major contributions to development of the UK National Accounts.

He has also worked as Director of Research and Analysis at the Audit Commission, Head of Research and Analytics at CIPFA, and co-founded the economic consultancy Belmana.

A Chartered Statistician and active in the Royal Statistical Society, he currently serves on the National Statistician’s Advisory Committee on Standards for Economic Statistics.
