James Mitchell is Professor of Economic Modelling and Forecasting at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. His main research interests are in the area of economic forecasting in the presence of uncertainties. James’ research has been published in (among others) The Economic Journal, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Journal of the Royal Statistical Society and the Journal of Applied Econometrics. Prior to his appointment at WBS in 2012, James was a Professor of Economics and Finance at the University of Leicester and before that a Senior Research Fellow at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR). In 2004 James carried out an independent review into data revisions for The Statistics Commission; he was also one of the authors of the 2005 Economic Journal paper behind the monthly GDP estimates produced by NIESR. James holds a PhD in economics/econometrics from the University of Cambridge.
