Michael J Mahony
Michael is an economist at the macro-financial division in the Central Bank of Ireland – focusing on work related to firm resilience. Specific areas of research include the impact of higher interest rates on firm resilience, analysing risks and stress points in the commercial real estate sector and climate related financial risks. Previously while at the University of Nottingham Michael’s research involved using firm-level data to measure sectoral expectations and uncertainty (including quantification of qualitative data), examining the role of capacity utilisation in explaining lower investment post-GFC and updating the standard New Keynesian Phillips curve with time-varying probability of adjusting prices.
