Economic Statistics in a Digital Age, 21 & 22 February 2017

This Office for National Statistics conference held in Newport, Wales, explored the challenges of measuring an evolving, modern economy. Over the course of two days leading academics, economists, statisticians and economic commentators heard presentations on the latest developments within statistics, economics and data science. Delegates also heard more details about the origins of ESCoE, its mission and its research agenda.

You can watch recorded live feeds of the whole conference here. Session 5 dealt specifically with the creation of ESCoE  with our  Director Rebecca Riley outlining ESCoE’s ambitious research programme over the next two years.

You can find the slides for the various presentations on the ONS Conference page, here. And for a flavour of the main themes you can listen to this ‘Behind the scenes’ conference podcast produced by NIESR and read this Conference Report.
